Mr. Ramachandran is a graduate in economics with a special
interest in the area of project planning. After joining the Indian
Administrative Service in 1972, he held various positions in the state of Uttar
Pradesh, where he took new initiatives in structuring the University system and
administration. He also started a Jan Chetna programme to reach out directly to
all villages and local representatives. After specializing in project
formulation and monitoring with the UNDP and working with the Ministry of
Shipping of the Government of India, he was recalled to the State of Uttaranchal
by the Government in 2003, where he held senior positions including those of
Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary. |
